The American Footcare Network (AFN) was founded in 1993 as a response to the growing intrusion of HMO’s during the 1990’s. AFN remains a national network that believes and works to preserve private practice Podiatry.
As consolidation of medical practices increase and reimbursements decline, AFN seeks to help Podiatrists prosper and maintain their independence. AFN is an affiliate of Healthcare Networks of America, LLC, a national, multi-specialty network whose mission is the preservation of private practice medicine.
AFN is exclusively comprised of thousands of Podiatrists in all 50 states. The benefits of being a participating provider in AFN are:
- AFN uses the bargaining power of thousands of member Podiatrists to negotiate the highest paying contracts in the industry, paying its providers 70-85% of billed charges.
- AFN focuses on EMPLOYER-based health plans, which have the richest health care plans for their employees and pay providers the highest rates.
- AFN serves over 25 million patients in all 50 states, many of the largest employers in America.
- AFN members get access to ongoing training to keep them current in the ever-changing healthcare system including the emerging new Podiatry field of Regenerative Medicine
